Liberatory practice

A stress cycle is a cycle that we need to complete in order to allow our body, mind to process and integrate a perceived threat. Stress responses are fight/flight/freeze/fawn. When we complete the cycle, you are signaling to your system that the threat is gone.

So when you complete the cycle you can discharge the energy that has built.

For example, you are walking and get to experience a threat from a man, so your body might perceive this as a threatening situation. In this situation we usually don’t fight or complete the cycle, often we tense up and walk faster… we are holding on to the stress responses.

This is an uncompleted stress cycle.

In the practice:

Can you hold yourself with love as you honor yourself.

This is key for your own process - sometimes engaging in liberatory practices we want to experience the depth of who we really are, it is so important that each one of you needs to be really aware of your boundaries and limits.

So if you know for example that you have a lot of trauma and have never worked with a practitioner or specialist before, be aware that you take smaller steps and be self responsible and for people that have been doing a lot of personal development work always check in if you are still present with your physical sensations.

When you get caught in an emotion, you might not be ready yet too move forward. come back, feel yourself, can you let go?

This is a practice of non attachment. Not attaching to any emotion. And remembering that emotions are just energy, that run through our body.

Follow your own pace, there is really no pressure or anywhere else to be. but we often have a competitive nature and we want to do it right and have a really mind blowing experience, but sometimes its really healing to be wherever you are in the moment and go at your own pace. And have an expansive time!!!
