.. new moon ritual..
.
maybe you feel inspired/reminded to do your own ritual today. . it is newmoon today, which represents the beginning of a new cyle, making it the ideal time to set intentions. i like to be in touch and honor the moon, life and it's cycles by creating rituals.
.
if you like some inspiration, here is what I do:
.
.
. create a sacred space (by lighting incense, candle,  switching off your phone, make yourself feel comfortable, have some tea).
.
.
. get yourself in a open state
(sitt in meditation / breath / walk barefoot / draw / dance or do whatever you do to feel connected/intuitiv/free/loving.)
.
.
. start to write down your intentions & what you hope to grow in your life, for the new cycle.
.
.
. how would you like to begin this new phase of growth?
. dig deep into your heart and listen to what it is telling you. don't get caught up in what we think we should want, what others want for us.
. make it a path of heart and plant your seeds wisely.

. make sure your intentions are in line with your  highest values and beliefs and create them by using postive wording.
.
.
. as you finish, read through your notes, pause after each intention and go into the feeling that you want to feel when that intention comes true.
feel it with your entire body - with your entire being.

little background:
In farming traditions the new moon is the time when the soil is most fertile and wet. Many farmers and gardeners plants seeds on the new moon as the moon’s lunar gravity pulls water up. The new moon is considered a growth phase and is an ideal time to plant seeds in our gardens as well as our hearts for the future. The new moon is an invitation to start fresh, call in intentions, and set the tone for the next cycle.

little bit more nerdy moon-love background:
On the day of the newmoon the moon is exactly between the earth and the sun. It is the darkest time of the month in many ways. The dark side - the shadow, faces the earth which makes the moon not visible. On the bright side: the new moon is also in the daytime sky. Sunlight illuminates the atmosphere so much that the dark face of the new moon can't be seen.

last background on moon & female cycle: . In ancient times, the natural rhythm of every woman was to menstruate under a new moon and ovulate under a full moon. This was before  artificial light, cell phone & computer screen and anti-baby pills.

The phases of the moon coincide with the phases of the menstrual cycle. Just as the Moon takes about 28 days to circle around to Earth, a woman’s menstrual cycle is about 28 days. Thats why its said to be a dark time as well, for women menstruating, this is where the female body naturally recycles energy, it looks for rest to recover and start the next phase. This is the reflective phase, the darkest phase, the phase of silence, introspection, solitude. A woman in this phase wants to be calm, so interaction with the outside world can even be annoying. Your body is much more sensitive, so you’re able now to connect in a special way with it and its messages. In this phase, a woman can rely more on her instinct and intuition.
